My Approach
For me, art is a temporal modality that allows me to process grief. Much of my work deals with repetition - I will hand build for hours, articulating one motif over and over until the accumulation of the individual pieces creates new tapestry. My art is a tangible representation of the ruminations of my mind. This vulnerable practice resonates with audiences because they can see the echoes of time and labor in each piece. To engage with my work is to grapple with the pain of letting go.
